Gesche Würfel's collage series, New Landscapes, was selected for the Urbanautica Institute Awards in the "Representations of Space, Geography, and Environment" category. By piecing together historical surveillance and archival records from the Stasi Records Archive, New Landscapesreinterprets the spatial reality of a divided Berlin. It explores how state control, physical barriers, and landscape memory intersect, creating new visual spaces out of the traces left behind by the regime.
